The shell can travel at speeds of up to Mach 7 (about 5,300 mph) and adjust its flight path according to satellite navigation signals.

The US Navy had been working on developing such a shell since 2012, but abandoned the project in 2021 due to technical difficulties and budget constraints.
Chinese naval scientists claim that they have successfully created the ‘dream bullet’ based on the US Navy’s blueprints.
They published a paper in November 2023, describing their achievements and challenges.

The US Navy has not officially responded to the Chinese claim of creating the ‘dream bullet’.
However, the Navy has been critical of China’s activities in the South China Sea, where it has been conducting naval exercises and building artificial islands.
